About Nicole

Likes: Coffee, Running, Reading.

Dislikes: Traffic.

By day, I teach people about the importance of saving for retirement. I’m a marketing planner,  creative thinker, and data addict during my 9 to 5. But I’d like to tell you more about the stuff I don’t earn a paycheck for.

  • Storyteller: You’d be hard-pressed to find a topic I can’t write about. I’ve written about health, weddings, my alumni association, counterespionage (yes, that’s a thing), and finance. I’ve got blogs on Blogger and WordPress, I’m a member of the Blogher and FitFluential networks, and share stories on Twitter and Snapchat. I’m a huge fan of the Oxford comma, but will tolerate those who do not use it.

The patience of a person can be measured by the time she will spend debating neutral paint colors with her husband.

  • ESPN Attention Seeker: I graduated from Penn State University. Now, I love my alma mater, but it awards about 22,000 degrees every year, which means I really have to figure out how to stand out in a crowd. ESPN seems to do a good job of picking me out, though:

2016 TaxSlayer Bowl

  • Therapy Dog Handler: I volunteer every Monday at a local nursing home. I’ll let you in on a secret, though – this little guy is the one doing all of the work:

When it comes to making people happy, nobody does a better job than Joey, my 10-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I also have two cats, but something tells me they wouldn’t be quite as talented at cheering up nursing home residents.
